Chrome just launched a new experiment named "JAM with Chrome" wherein you can start your own live band online and play your music in the form of a web app and jam live with friends in real time and that too online. There are 19 instruments available including drums, guitars, keyboards etc. Shortcut keys can be alloted to play the instruments.
It is purely based on HTML5 and here is a case study for people interested. Otherwise for those interested in the API's, the ones used were: Web Audio, Web Sockets, Canvas, CSS3, Google Cloud, Google Appengine, Go language and obviously HTML5.
